Fujikura 45S fiber optic splicer is a coating alignment splicer, which sets a new standard in the splicer market. The 45S is equipped with a host of new and improved features, specifically developed to enable faster splicing cycle times with greater accuracy.
The 45S is the essential splicer based on active alignment technology with features of fast operation, user-friendly design, versatile functionality and consistent quality.
Preparation, stripping, cutting and fixing the fiber in the splicer generally need to be repeated separately for the left and right side fibers. The process in the 45S eliminates this and allows for simultaneous fiber preparation thanks to the new SS05 dual fiber stripper, the new AD16 fiber adapter for the CT50 cutter and the 45S's own smart setting plate mechanism.
The SS05 fiber stripper is equipped with four blades: ① for 2.3mm, ② for 900μm, ③ ④ for 250μm fibers. The use of blades ③ and ④ allows simultaneous stripping of 250 μm fibers.
The new AD16 fiber adapter for the CT50 slicer is equipped with two slots. Placing a fiber in each slot provides simultaneous cutting.
Previous splicers required a two-handed operation to close the fiber clamp and hold it. Thanks to a new mechanism, the 45S closes the fiber clamp automatically when it detects the tightening operation and provides simultaneous, one-handed tightening.
The 45S is equipped with a mechanism that links the wind shield and the fiber clamp, so that when you open the wind shield, the fiber clamps open automatically.
The 45S is also equipped with retainers, known from our conventional splicer models. Retainers prevent fiber from jumping out after opening fiber clamps.
These mechanisms work together to provide easy fiber handling and a reduction in the time it takes to transfer the fiber to the heater.
The booster sleeve retraction heater is designed to heat the booster sleeve between two heaters at the front and rear. Shortens the heating time by 15% if using the FP-03 sleeve.
*Measured at room temperature with the AC adapter. The heat time is defined from the initial beep to the final beep sound. The average heat time changes depending on environmental conditions, type of protector and battery status. Furthermore, since the heating operation is constantly optimized, the average heating time changes depending on the use conditions of the splicer.
Thanks to the way the 45S streamlines the brewing process, reduces transport time and offers faster heating, it is 30% faster than the 41S+, which it replaces.
The 45S is equipped with a movable 4.95-inch color LCD monitor to ensure optimal visibility in a wide range of conditions, even when outdoors in direct sunlight.
The space between the edges of the left and right fiber clamp is 60mm, as shown in the left image.
This distance allows for easy positioning of the protector, with the splice point placed in the center of the protector.
The scale on the heater shows the guide for other sleeve lengths, for example 40mm.
The removable battery makes replacement easy and accessible.
The cube shape provides a reduced base area while giving the user a large operating space.
The 45S carrying case provides several usage configurations.
Removing the work tray from the carrying case allows the tray to expand. Using the work tray with the strap provides a portable work surface and the strap can be attached to the work tray on the sides of the splicer to ensure ease of use.
The 45S is equipped with Fujikura's active fusion control technology, which analyzes the fiber image during fusion and controls the arc discharge accordingly. The result is stable splicing loss regardless of the environment.
A bad cut on one end is a potential reason for high splice loss. The 45S can address this because it is equipped to control fusion according to the condition of the cut surface. This feature helps reduce splicing loss by compensating for poor cuts.
The 45S analyzes the fiber image during fusion and controls the fusion energy according to the real-time condition of the fiber. This helps minimize splicing loss regardless of the environment.
This process also provides Warm Splice Image (WSI) technology. WSI analyzes during splicing and provides a loss estimate, even though the 45S is a liner alignment splicer.
It prevents the case of “good loss estimation but bad actual loss”.
The 45S monitors the blade status of the CT50 mower through wireless communication. When the 45S judges that the blade is worn, it will command the CT50 to rotate the blade to a new position to ensure that the CT50 continues to deliver consistent cutting performance.
The Splice+ app provides convenient splicer management via wireless communications between the 45S and your mobile phone.
An interruption in the pairing of wireless communication between the splicer and the mobile phone can lock the splicer, preventing misuse and functioning as an anti-theft measure.
The data management function retrieves data from the splicer and saves it to the cloud. This data may include GPS data from a phone, which is useful for managing the splicer's operation.
You can find and get the Splice+ app on Google Play and the App Store.
