The detector combines smoke and temperature detection to provide (depending on the mode of use) excellent sensitivity capable of detecting any type of heat source (critical sources such as flammable liquid fires that produce little smoke) or a high degree of immunity to false alarms.
The operating mode can be configured directly from the control panel, choosing between the following options:
- “PLUS” mode (factory default): the detector activates the alarm if the smoke threshold is exceeded (configurable as for ED100) or if the temperature threshold is exceeded (configurable as for ED200), in addition , in case of temperature increase, the smoke detection sensitivity is set to the maximum. This mode of operation, characterized by high sensitivity, allows detection of even the most critical sources of fire (for example, the combustion of alcohol or similar liquids).
- “OR” mode: the detector activates the alarm if the smoke threshold is exceeded (configurable as for ED100) or if the temperature threshold is exceeded (configurable as for ED200). This mode of operation, which is characterized by a moderate level of sensitivity, makes it possible to detect both sources with smoke emissions and little heat (for example, slow-burning fires), as well as sources with low smoke emissions and high temperature values (for example, example, chemical fire).
- “AND” mode: the detector activates the alarm only if both thresholds, smoke and temperature, are exceeded simultaneously (configurable as for ED100 and ED200). This mode of operation, characterized by low sensitivity, allows the incidence of false alarms to be reduced to a minimum. Due to the low reactivity of this mode of operation, conditions must be carefully evaluated before use.
- “SMOKE” mode: the detector behaves like an ED100.
- “TEMPERATURE” mode: the detector behaves like an ED200.
